Crash and B55

June 19th, 2009

This is a film review with a difference. It reviews the film Crash (Director: Paul Haggis; U.S. 2005) with the themes of the Equilibrium bottle B55 - the Christ combination in Aura-Soma.

The opening sequence features drifting lights, white and red, they are out of focus headlights and tail lights. This colour symbolism at the start of the film gave me a jolt to wake up and take notice. They are the colours of the Christ bottle in the Aura-Soma Equilibrium range, Clear over Red. The ideas that follow are the result of considering the film in relation to the teachings of Christ.

The narrative of the film is composed of brilliantly interwoven threads of lives, lives that cross and interact one fateful 24 hour period. The central theme of the film is anger and forgiveness (a strong Christ theme that is also expressed in the Lord’s Prayer “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who have trespassed against us”. In a fairly subtle way the film shows that anger hurts the one who carries it. It is easy to strike out at the wrong person when you carry it. Either speak up in the moment against the trespass /wrongdoing, or forgive. Otherwise the anger continues and most likely erupts to hurt further innocents.

A lot of the anger in the story is caused by racism. The gunstore owner throws the Iraqi out of his shop for not understanding English well enough; the black thieves only rob whites; in the aftermath of the crash of the opening scene, the Hispanic and the Chinese ladies revert to attacking each other with racist taunts. It is hard to watch but brings into focus another key Christ theme; “Love your neighbour as yourself.” The film explores the way that judging and being judged affect us, how different people respond in different ways. It is fascinating how different characters are brought to their edges of pain. On the occasions when humanity wins through then there are truly moments of relief.

Strong secondary themes within the story are those of justice and fate. It is notable in the Tree of Life that the paths of Justice and the Wheel of Fortune (Fate) both point (albeit from a distance in the case of Justice) to the sphere of Netsach – the sphere of Feeling. Healing of feeling is an important part of the story too. Only after Sandra Bullock’s character acknowledges her anger does she come recognise her need for contact; the streetwise thief who initially has no empathy for his victims in the end comes to feel good in doing something positive for others.

Only one of the character interactions ends in tragedy and yet surprisingly it happens between two of the least offensive characters. On deeper thought though it is apparent that the habit of these two characters was not to confront the injustice of their fellows. It is yet another Christ theme. “Evil flourishes where good men do nothing”, the conclusion to draw seems to be “Have the courage to stand up”. Martin Luther King, a devout Christian lived this. As a human being he found the burden of being the figurehead for justice almost unbearable, he feared for his life, yet as a soldier of Christ he found strength to face the darkness and the danger. His observation was that it is only when man finds something he is willing to die for can he truly live.

It is a great film, the ingenuity of the story supported by the clever cutting between different threads of the plots make for a riveting watch. The message isn’t hammered home, different stories resolve in different ways, more or less neatly, the premise though is to do with justice and, underneath that, our common humanity - two things we innately hold to as children. Perhaps this is what we are being reminded of with the injunction “Be ye as little children in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

The whole story is set to the backdrop of the Christmas season, yet another Christ resonance. The time to remember Christ and Christian values: forgiveness and human brother / sisterhood. The film closes with snow, a miracle in itself in LA. Snow the return of innocence to earth, all is made clean white virginal once more.

It is a film I would highly recommend for anyone working with 55, 98, 104, and to a lesser extent any further Red / Pink / Clear combinations as well as 8, 13, 10. The film ends with another interracial argument kicking off in the wake of another car crash. The camera spirals out as the snow falls. Flashpoints arise every day. Yet in this film we are shown the other side of the coin too, a day of redemption, second chances and turning points.

Numerology 2: East to West

71 and 1: a No and a Yes

In Numerology 1 (see previous blog) I looked at the 171 steps of the Statue of Liberty from a numerological perspective as a combination of a 17 and a 1 : B17 (the path of The Star) and B1 (the path of The Magician). It is however more orthodox to see the 171 as a combination of a 1 and a 71. This article explores the implications of this view. Since in numerology we read numbers from right to left we shall start with the inside number - 71.

B71: Born out of No

The Pink / Cear combination brings the intensity of the light to the red in the top fraction a very strong way. Pink is primarily the energy for love of course, but the red hidden within the pink has further themes related to it. Themes such as the tendency to say “No” (introduced in the Level 2 course); and also themes of separation and grounding (finding one’s place to stand on the earth).

Those who initially left the Old World of Europe to the New World of North Americas did so out of a “No”. It was the lack of religious freedom that led the Founding Fathers to sail from Boston UK (just down the road from Tetford). There was no Statue of Liberty then of course but the principle of No was present. Later waves of immigrants separated (red) from their homelands (red / pink theme of mother country) because of hardships at home such as poverty, famine, persecution and war. Notice too that red is about struggle - red’s complementary colour - green - is about flow and harmony. In green there is no struggle, no pressure to change. Red drives change.

In B71 we find the suffering (clear) that leads people to say No, separate from the mother energy and search for a new place to put down their roots.

B1: Inspired by Yes

Where red is No, blue is Yes. As much as emigrants from the Old World were pushed by No, when they arrived as immigrants they held a strong Yes for a new chance. A desire (blue) for something better. As discussed in the previous blog Numerology 1 - there is a resonance between B1 and the American Dream - the chance to achieve your dream.

Evolution

Reading numbers from right to left is like travelling from East to West. This numerological interpretation of the Statue of Liberty’s 171 steps begins from the inside (the eastern side) with the 71, and travels towards the outside number - the 1 - which is on the far left of the 171 (and so the western-most number). This is how the USA was born. Out of a No and towards a Yes.

Now the USA has extended all the way to the West Coast and the energy has settled there. In contrast to the the East Coast of the USA which looks back across the Atlantic to Europe the West Coast is definitively American and looks out to the Pacific. The West looks forwards to the future rather than back to the past.

Conclusion

In the Numerology 1 blog, I unconsciously started with the 17 and the 1 - reading uncharacteristically from right to left. But I now see that this choice reflected something about the USA itself. The USA has reached its West Coast where the quintessence of the American Dream may be found. For example Hollywood, the creator of dreams is situated here. The American message of freedom and dreams is now able to travel back from the West towards the East! This interpretation sees the 1 - The Magician - the power to create the American Dream - firmly rooted within (the 1 on the inside). And this inner 1 expresses itself through The Star - 17 which represents the freedom to flow and live one’s truth in the world.

Stars and Stripes

A fascinating confirmation to all this comes from the American flag. Known as the Stars and Stripes it is another key symbol for the USA. On its right hand (eastern) side are the 13 red and white stripes (B71 Pink / Clear) that represent the 13 original States that rebelled (red!!) against the British Empire of the Old World. In the top left (western) corner of the flag are the 50 white stars on the blue background which represent the current states of the Union (less Hawaii). From red to blue, from right to left, from east to west.

Can you believe there is yet a third way to interpet the 171. There is. It is creative and original and you can read about it in Numerology 3.

Numerology 1 - 171 Steps and the American Dream

May 28th, 2009

I read the other day that The Statue of Liberty has 171 steps. Naturally my mind turned to Aura-Soma bottles. The 17 and the 1 stood out. That is The Star and The Magician in the Tarot Aura-Soma connection. The Statue of Liberty is a US icon and the original gateway for all immigrants in to this new world. I was therefore interested to see if the Equilibrium bottles fitted the USA in some way.

B1 and the American Dream

I have long connected B1 with the USA since the International Dialling Code for the States is + 1 and the Blue/Rescue seems very fitting with US values. I consider “the American Dream” to be a defining US value, and the B1 with its rescue for blue providses the energy to declare (throat chakra) your dream and make it a reality. This is the power of The Magician.

B17 and Freedom

The Star B17 precedes the 1 (171) in this way of looking. The Star also supports the idea of “Live your truth anf follow your dream”. The path of The Star is on the male side of the Tree of Life, the side which that favours flow and freedom, the side connected to the energy of the Father. Again these are all very key themes in the US psyche: The Founding Fathers, and the Bill of Rights that guarantees freedoms. The Star resonates with the freedom to travel (flow) West (through the Wild West - again freedom) and find your fortune.

Conclusion …

All in all, the 171 steps of the Statue of Liberty, taken as the 17 and the 1, seem to resonate very strongly with the values and themes of the USA.

And still there is an alternative view of the 171. A view ultimately more consistent with numerology practice. And as i write now a view that is a perfect complement to the above view. Read about it in the next blog coming very soon …

Japan and Aura-Soma

May 19th, 2009

I am often asked why is Aura-Soma so popular in Japan. Here is a thought. Some of the ideas beneath are not held be everybody in Japan, and Japan is changing. Nevertheless i think the ideas are true to the traditional Japanese way of life which all Japanese have been born into. The idea is inspired by some stonework i was admiring while staying in Kyoto earlier this month. I was on the edge of the city on a hillside close to the forest - the area has a traditional look. Here is the wall.

Every stone fits in Japan

Every stone fits in Japan

These are not small stones! You will notice that every stone is uniquely shaped, retaining some originality. Yet as a whole this wall is tightly knit. If a stone were removed another could not be easily found to replace it. This says several important things about Japanese society.

First it says that great care has been taken in building this wall. Each stone has been placed with care and attention to detail, small adjustments have been made at the edges to ensure a tight fit. These are magenta qualities: care and attention to detail.

It would be much easier and quicker to mass-produce regularly shaped bricks. But in Japan things are valued for their unique quality. Originality of form is prized, respect for each other is paramount. I once asked a Japanese friend if she would wear a brace to change her teeth. She replied that teeth were a gift from her parents and should be respected as such. The wall is more important than the stone! No stone in the wall requires another to be different, each is accommodated as it is, or at least the chipping away happened so long ago that now there is no memory of things being any other way. This gives greatstrength to society, yet, at the same time, it is impossible for any stone to move without upsetting the whole.

This is true of individuals in Japanese society. They live in cities of millions and millions. Any day at any hour almost every train is full. People moving together. People are expected to give a huge amount to work: traditionally you should not go home if your boss is still in the office. Everyone should know their position in society and bow to everyone else accordingly. So where is the space for the individual? Not much on the outside is the answer. “The nail that sticks up will be hammered down” is a traditional Japanese proverb.

But here is where Aura-Soma has something to offer. It presents a non intrusive, gentle, private way to nurture and explore your inner world. You may not be free outside, but you can grow inside. Come to know your inner shape better; like the stone in the wall, find your uniqueness and bring it to life with consciousness. Mike Booth used to like to talk about making pots, that every so often a pot would be made under his hands on the wheel that seemed to sing. It had an inner quality of aliveness. Aura-Soma helps to bring that aliveness to each individual life, and in Japan, that has a very high value indeed.

Effective Aura-Soma Consultations

April 26th, 2009

I was thrilled to to find a really neat way to express a key to effective Aura-Soma consultations earlier this year. The idea came while I was teaching one of my favourite courses - Practices and Principles - which focuses on consultation skills. This idea compares the Aura-Soma consultation with the two fractions of the Equilibrium bottle.

Spiritual inspiration

Every Equilibrium bottle contains two fractions and these may be seen to represent the two possibilities of the Aura-Soma consultation. First is the oily fraction, the lighter part of Equilibrium. Floating above the water fraction it represents the spiritual dimension of both bottle and consultation, encouraging us to rise above, uplifting. Often consultations are an attempt to inspire the client, to talk them up to another level. The phrase that comes to my mind is “spiritual pep talk.” Personally I think such consultations, though often given with the best intention, miss the real opportunity that the consultation offers.

The clue is in the name: Aura-Soma. Aura refers to light and Soma refers to the body. The more I work with Aura-Soma the more I understand that Aura-Soma is not about being spiritual at the expense of our human life, it is about bringing spiritual presence and consciousness into our human difficulties. The consultation that seeks only to uplift will generally deny the space for the client to bring their own story into the consultation.

Human healing

I see the water in the base fraction as representing the client’s story. It is the denser part of Equilibrium: it is life’s human experience. In truth here are the matters on which their soul is meditating, seeking to digest and integrate. Only if we as practitioners invite the client’s personal experience into the consultation process and make that the centre of the consultation, will our consultations have the chance to really engage with our clients where their life is being lived. Their story is the earth in which the consultation process takes root and things grow best when they are rooted, when they can unfold and grow from within.

Unless we are willing to open to the clients story our well-meaning words will most likely share the fate of water, falling “off a duck’s back” as we say in England. It means that what comes from outside does not penetrate within. In such cases the light that Aura-Soma and the Practitioner offers does not truly enter and take root in the client’s life beyond the consultation room.

“Best of both worlds”

I believe the potential of the Aura-Soma consultation is to bring the soul presence to the human story. We always mix the two fractions of an Equilibrium bottle before applying it, and in the same way it is both natural and necessary to mix the two parts of the consultation – the light of Aura-Soma AND the client’s story to create the full potential of the Aura-Soma consultation.

Developing the skills necessary to achieve this potential are the essence of my Aura-Soma consultation skills course named “Aura-Soma Practices and Principles”. I shall be teaching this course in Japan, Europe and Russia through the spring and summer of 2009. In particular a few places remain on the European course which is being held in Holland this June. The course will be taught entirely in English and all english-speaking students from whichever country are warmly invited. The closing date for enrolment on this course is May 31st. New Beginnings

March 21st, 2009

Spring came yesterday at 11.44. It was a warm hazy day here in Tetford and a soft beginning for the next quarter.

I shall be presenting my first Teacher Level 1 at Dev Aura starting tomorrow. It is a big step and one I am looking forward to. This morning exciting ideas are beginning to flow, a thought on including the students in the course planning and timetabling during the morning of Day 1, inviting them to think like teachers from the very start of the course, not just to give them a certificate at the end of the week. I am very happy; this is the bigger part of me beginning to engage, inspiring me with ideas and possibilities.

I mentioned the time of the solstice, 11.44, because it had the ring of significance when I heard it. Now, as I reflect on my words this morning, the time reminds me of the Tarot card I drew at the start of the year. It was the Emperor, number 4 in the Major Arcana (the path cards). The insight I gained from this card was the importance of the gold under the yellow. Yellow is thinking and knowledge, the activity of the ego, which of course includes lesson preparation too. The gold underneath is however a soul presence, a wisdom that can enter in to any moment. While my mind may make plans there is a deeper part of me that is connected into a flow and can advise the best way to go. The Emperor for this year is encouraging me to trust this deeper part of myself in each moment.

The Equinox moment yesterday: 11.44 - aligned the 4 with the 1. The 1 is the Blue / Deep Magenta, the energy for our word, our intention, our purpose; it is the Magician who creates out of nothing. The 4 is the Yellow / Gold, the Emperor, the one who lives on the earth, but operates at his best when he is aligned with the original intention, the 1, from spirit.

The sun is shining here in Tetford and it is time to get on. I wish you a good day, and a golden Spring.

The Wanderer B46

March 17th, 2009

I am in the last days of my 46th year. Over the years the Equilibrium bottle B46 has been a significant bottle in my life. Its name “The Wanderer” resonates with my life experience - I spend much of my time travelling and sharing Aura-Soma. I have found that the message of the colours poses a question for me. “Do I travel (wander) to get love (magenta) or to give it? Am I empty or full?”

Overflowing

When I teach I usually experience something overflowing, a spiritual love perhaps.
But this is not the case in the whole of my life. It is a gift that comes with the work. It is something I believe belongs to me (though i am sure the energy field of Aura-Soma also contributes to the experience) – i sense it as my better part as it were, my higher self. However then a further question arises “How can I put myself in the receiving position of this love more of the time?” This would allow me to be in the space to give love from a position of fullness rather than seek it from a position of emptiness.

Receptivity

B99 Archangel Tzadkiel Pale Olive / Pale Pink is hidden with the colours of B46. The (loosely) associated quintessence Holy Grail Solar Logos is all about encouraging this receptivity to the overflowing from above. The Holy Grail of the heart, or the body as a whole, (pale olive); and the Solar Logos which is the Word of Spirit, the 8th chakra, the magenta with its message of “love from above”.

The Fountain

If I can be filled from above then I can share with all, and as a cup overflowing I will never experience emptiness, only more and more abundance. An idealistic view I am sure but I think this is the potential of the B46 combination. It strikes me as I write that the idea of overflowing is very much associated with B31 “The Fountain” Green / Gold, and that this is a very closely related combination. The green in the top is the same, but here we have gold not magenta underneath. Gold is the energy for the Incarnational Star. This star is the physical correspondence to the Soul Star - the magenta above. The gold is the space where the magenta is realised within this human experience. So from magenta to gold the Wanderer who travels receives from his own source and thus shares from fullness rather than emptiness. In this way he becomes a fountain to those around him.

I would be happy to pass such a lesson before my 47th birthday.

B103 Archangel Haniel

March 17th, 2009

This combination was created at 11.11am on the 22/4/2003. Its colours are Opalescent Pale Blue / Deep Magenta.

Opalescence

With the oplaescence in the top fraction has come something strikingly different from all the Equilibrium bottles that have preceded it. When looking through the top fraction into the light then this opalescence appears hazy - almost like the summer haze over a city. But, when viewing this fraction face on with the light being reflected back from it, it takes on an opalescent milky quality, mysterious, opaque yet luminescent. The opalescence has coincided with the introduction of the spagyrik crystal essences into the Aura-Soma products. These bring a radical deepening of the potential of the Aura-Soma products. Vicky Wall viewed the crystal energies as the key to the Re-New-All age as she called it. With this bottle certainly comes a rescue for a return to the solution to problems.

El Morya

The pale transparent blue of El Morya says “Thy Will Be Done through me.” This opalescent blue with its hint of substance is closely akin to the colour of El Morya and yet subtly different. Rather than being purely a transparent channel for the Higher Will it is more a stimulus to recognise what is our individual desire from the highest level. Deep within this created life in which we live is the creative impulse, the part of us that is one with the Creator and called forth this. The opalescence reminds me of the Primum Nebulae, the first substance of this universe, the birthing of the stars, the creation of space and time in which the drama of evolution has unfolded. It speaks of origins.

Returning to the solution

So the question this bottle stimulates is “What do I really want?” “To what is my original Yes?” And the “I” and the “my” pertain to my central “I”, the “I” that is one with the Source. Paradoxically the Deep Magenta in the base, which always represents the creative No-thing from which all is born and to which all returns, is less solid and impenetrable in this bottle. It is pale, more transparent, even as the top is more opaque. Something of the Unmanifest is becoming more conscious. “What do I really want?” And accompanying this can also be raised the questions “Why keep investing in things I do not want to continue? What situations in my life do I no longer wish to feed with my energy and my time?

The more deeply do we discover our innermost desire the more we come to a unity and peace within. I remember a line from the film City Slickers, one of the central characters is looking to find the way forwards in his life. He is advised, “You have to find the one thing.” At first he thinks he has to find something out there in the world but then he realises that the one thing is whatever the central most important thing for him is in his life. He learns that all other decisions and priorities follow from this one thing. Note the birth time of the bottle - certainly a 1 energy there!

Healing Division

In many ways the process of the previous bottle B102 Samael helped to prepare us to find the one thing. B102 was born with an awakening event, the attack on the Twin Towers, and precipitated a war, the War on Terror. The process of the time that followed asked us to determine where we stood in relation to War and Peace. From the initial proposition in autumn 2001 “You are either with us or with the terrorists” to the final days before the launch of war on Iraq we were asked where we stood, to stand up and be counted.

But Haniel has been born in the aftermath of the Iraq war. The bottle is a rescue for Peace, blue is peace and here is a Peace Rescue. Haniel was born, at the 11th minute of the 11th hour. In 1918 it was the 11th day of the 11th month that signalled the end of fighting a return to peace, though the unfair terms of this ceasefire were the seed for future conflict. Since then we have better learnt that winning the peace is more important than winning the war. We are now in the time on the world stage to create that Peace.

Winning the peace, this is our opportunity now. The gift of Haniel. To know our goal, our deepest desire, is a milestone on the journey to peace. But really it is no more than obtaining a map with the destination indicated, we still need to make the journey. I believe Haniel will support us to put our principles into practice.

Attitude

And the way to do that is with all the energy and awareness that we have, using our original force. Like a Samurai, swiftly and with full commitment. But our practice, our actions, will only be consistent as long as we re invoke our goal and this goal will only stand the test of time if it is in alignment with out deepest desire. Nourish the vision and practise it as consistently as possible. It is a time to implement our deepest desire. This puts me in mind of another Equilibrium bottle, B94, Archangel Michael, the dragon slayer, pale blue over pale yellow, for in this process of the implementation of the practice of our Higher Will we have to overcome the dragons of our lower nature, those of reluctance, doubt, laziness etc. (Incidentally 94 adds up to 13 as does 103.) As Trish and Will Hunter of Aura-Soma USA once said “Attitude is the sum total of our actions.” To forge an attitude we have to practice. Yet through practice the world is changed.

In the midst of life

The picture accompanying this article is the one of B103 that I so far like the best, appearing as it does in the midst of ordinary life. So it is with peace, here we are in the middle of life and here and now is the one place we can bring peace into being. In my peace meditations recently something new has happened in that, rather than trying to build up peace as a blue energy, I have experienced it more effortlessly by considering that peace is already everywhere existing, it is just a case of tuning into it. Perhaps this time of Haniel brings this possibility more tangibly to earth.

Summary

Entering the 100s in the Equilibrium sequence brings a new dimension into evolution, that of influx from a deeper level of the divine mind. 3 is creativity and so 103 is creativity from a deeper level. 102 was deep polarisation in the world. 103 can be creativity and synthesis, not just finding a new way but actually making it, creating it out of nothing. We are in the process of creation still. This is the gift.

This opalescent quality puts more onus on us individually to take responsibility for what we create. Whether we consciously choose it or not, we are creating with our life energy. And in the end it is what we put our energy to in practice that counts. How will you use your energy to bring into being the world?

Recommending Archangeloi

March 17th, 2009

I don’t know about you but the finding a basis on which to recommend the Archangeloi has been quite a long journey. This article shares with you the answer to which I have come.

The Archangeloi were created in 2003. From the start I felt that they were a very important part of the Aura-Soma system, however it has taken me a long time to integrate them into the product recommendations at the end of a consultation. The problem was that the 8 (now 9) Archangeloi we have in Aura-Soma relate very specifically to the bottles from 94 to 101 and now also 104. So it seemed to me that unless one of those nine bottles were present then there was no guidance on which Archangeloi, if any, would be appropriate.

However on my recent trip to Japan a basis for recommending Archangeloi emerged while sharing the Exploring the Archangels courses. It suddenly became clear that the Archangeloi are ideally suited to encourage the client’s future evolution.

So how can we identify which Archangeloi is the most suitable for the client’s next step? Of course the colours of the 4th bottle will give a very important indication but I believe they are not the only factor. Ideally the practitioner also has to consider the whole direction of the consultation, the themes and clues that have emerged through listening to the client’s story.

From all this some idea of what the client is moving towards will appear. This idea can then be compared to the key themes of each Archangeloi to assess which theme best fits the client’s future direction. The Archangeloi that is indicated can then be double-checked by comparing the colours in the client’s selection with those in the Archangel bottle(s) being considered for final confirmation.

To help you I include here a list of my current key ideas for each Archangeloi. There are of course more possibilities than listed below but for me these represent my current understanding of the essence of each Archangeloi.

Archangel Michael is an energy for integrity and for action.

Archangel Gabriel is an energy for letting go and letting flow.

Archangel Raphael is restoring, gently nourishing and opening for a new beginning.

Archangel Uriel nourishes an inner vision, connects us to our soul dreams.

Archangel Sandalphon is for entering into relationships, into commitments, into sharing and growing.

Archangel Tzadkiel is feminine, but also outgoing and dynamic, walking our truth upon the earth.

Archangel Metatron
is deeply intense, it offers a turning point for the person. It is the closest to pure meditation.

Archangel Jophiel is energy for a new beginning, stepping out. It also helps us to express our truth to others.

Archangeloi Chamael helps us to face the difficult things, transcend our anger and rejection and let go.

It is fascinating to me that this Archangeloi function of addressing the future perfectly complements the roles of the other key products in Aura-Soma – the Equilibrium bottles, pomanders and quintessences. In the consultation recommendations the Equilibrium bottle brings energy for change to the client’s past – realising the gift from the challenge; the quintessence brings inspiration into the present; the pomander supports the “always” – the true aura colour at the centre of the self. Now we have the Archangeloi to stimulate the client’s future unfoldment. As Mike noted in his booklet on the Archangeloi, they stimulate the seeds of positive potential hidden within the aura. We can say that as we heal the past with the other three products we can now invite a meaningful and positive future too.

I hope you find this article helpful. If you wish to learn more about the Archangels and the Archangeloi then I recommend my course “Exploring the Archangels”. It goes more deeply into all of this and in addition gives much space and support for your own inner growth.

B106 Archangel Ratziel

March 17th, 2009

I received this bottle from Mike the day it was born - lucky i was standing outside in my garden as he was driving by. To my eyes this is a very soft combination, the misty quality of the two fractions giving the sense of a hidden depth in light rather than darkness. Olive is the colour to grow, to find our way, to live. Violet is healing, transformative, in this case transmuting even. As I looked into the base the first time I had a sense that something could be born from this violet depth, something could emerge from this mistiness, just as potential is born out of the Deep Magenta.

The bottle contains hidden complementary colours , yellow and violet. But where ordinarily these two might be opposed to each other, the olive allows for growth and reconciliation though. Growing towards the blue. A sense of our purpose from within.

Synchronicities

“Falling apart and going our own way.”

B105 was very much about cooperating and working together. In the few days just before this bottle was born it seemed that in my life some relationships particularly professional were falling apart, but, surprisingly and very refreshingly for me in what felt like a positive and freeing way.

I have come to realise that (some) other people get ahead by simply going forwards with what they want. My tendency has been to wait for permission and concensus. These last couple of days, leading up to the birth of this bottle I have been thinking it is time simply to go ahead with what I want. A very helpful thought for me in this has been:

“It is not that I am against the other (person or situation) I am simply for this (my own best interest).”

This thought is very different from that which was widespread following the birth of B102 and the attack on the Twin Towers, namely “You are either with us or with them (the terrorists).” Here a choice had to be made that did not allow for individual viewpoint. A thought that created a polarised world based on hierarchical loyalties. Notice how this new bottles colours are hidden within B102 Deep Olive / Deep Magenta.))

This new thought is a very empowering one and goes to the essence of the olive quality of stepping out into life. It takes courage and the willingness to go beyond the permission of another (blue) or the consensus of the group (orange / coral). It is striking that in the Colour Rose blue and orange appear as complementary colours top and bottom, but the Olive appears in the Colour Rose at 90 degrees to the Blue / Orange axis. In astrology this would be called the Grand Cross, it is a fundamental structure. Coincidentally I was speaking to the Australian distributor Marg Simon this morning and she said that for her olive is a horizontal leadership (not vertical) and, to me, the Olive in this Grand Cross shape in the Colour Rose would confirm that. The idea that we are all free to live our own lives with no one above us. From all this I find that Mike’s words on this Archangel being about personal empowerment resonate very strongly with my own experience.

Internationally at this time we have news of Kurds seeking the right to an independent country again. Also in Europe there is another attempt to create a larger European body and questions as to whether the people will be given the chance to vote on this. Both these items are instances of the tension between togetherness and individual sovereignty.

Meanwhile in our own home Daniel our son, now 3, has finally just got his own bedroom. He is just now moving from sleeping in our (the parents) room to having and sleeping in his own bedroom. Some nights here, some nights there. Finding his new balance between togetherness and independence.

A living example

One last thing. We have a new hero in the UK: Lewis Hamilton, a racing driver. Last night there was a TV programme about him during which one observation was made that has stayed in my memory. “He feels his ability to drive fast is a gift from God and he is going to use it.” His senior team colleague in the Mercedes McClaren team is Fernando Alonso. Alonso has been a world champion twice before. It is Hamilton’s first year at this top level of the sport. They say that this year Alonso found it a huge shock to be threatened, professionally, by his own junior colleague. But Hamilton has not held back. He has raced to win, not to come second. His action is breaking down the unspoken idea of hierarchy within the team. They say that the thing Alonso underestimated particularly was Lewis Hamilton’s sense of purpose. His purpose to be the best he can be, not against anyone else but for himself. Hamilton feels he has been given this gift and it is up to him to do everything he can to fulfil it.

This seems to me to be the key to this new energy. We all have gifts, we all have a life to live, it is up to us to honour and fulfil that. To do so is liberating. It is not against anyone else, it is for our potential.
